Police said a man hallucinating under the influence of drugs shot out his own front door Sunday morning in north Tulsa. Matthew Anthony Dillon was arrested after he called police around 12:30 a.m.

Dillon, 56, first told police he shot at people who were trying to break into his home in the 2700 block of East Latimer Court, an arrest report states. He later told officers he and a 16-year-old friend had been smoking either meth or K2, and he hallucinated the break-in.

He reportedly told police he shot through the front door into the street to stop the hallucinations. Police found a shotgun shell on the inside of the shattered glass door.

Dillon was arrested for recklessly handling a firearm, contributing to the delinquency of a minor by smoking meth with her, and harboring a runaway.

The arrest report states Dillon let a teenage girl live at his home to keep her from living off the streets.
