A Tulsa elementary school got a big boost to one of its mentoring programs.
Newfield Exploration donated $25,000 to Park Elementary to support the Reading Partners mentoring program.
The program relies on community members to help first through third graders by reading with them.
The school's principal, Anita Schroeder, said the program has made a big difference.
"Highly recommend that other people get involved, and go and mentor at their own local schools and help out. ‘Cause I know everybody needs help," Schroeder said.
As of the midway point of the school year, every student at Park Elementary has improved their reading skills.
The school said that would not have been possible without the Reading Partners program.
