Cause Of Verdigris House Fire Under Investigation

Verdigris firefighters were called out early Thursday to a house fire just east of Verdigris on South Red Oak Drive.

Verdigris firefighters said the fire was confined to the second floor of the home, but the rest of the home suffered smoke damage. 

The couple living in the home was able to get out before firefighters arrived just after 3 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The Claremore Fire Department was called to assist Verdigris with fighting the fire.
