Two Women Dead In Tulsa Shooting

Tulsa police say two women are dead after a shooting Wednesday morning at an eastside apartment complex. They currently are seeking information about vehicle that was seen on surveillance video leaving the area after the shooting.

It happened in the parking lot of the Bristol Park Apartments at 4400 South Garnett Road.

Police said they got a call about a shooting at the apartments just after 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, they discovered the back window of a car shattered and one of the women in the driver's side of a vehicle. The other woman was lying on the ground.

One was already dead, but the second woman died at the hospital, TPD Officer Jillian Roberson said.

Police haven't released the names of the victims, but said one was in her mid-20s, and the other is a 37-year-old who lived in the complex.

"Nobody in or around that apartment that lives there has said there was any type of disturbance inside," TPD Homicide Detective Dave Walker said.

And while no one heard anything before the shooting, Walker said there were about six witnesses to the crime. At least one reported seeing a man run from the scene.

"We do believe that's a possibility, and we are considering some information that possibly they were with a couple of males last night," Roberson said.

But what investigators still don't know is, why the lives of two women were taken on the day before Thanksgiving.

"Whether it's June or right before Thanksgiving... we know that somebody's lives have changed forever," Walker said.

TPD is looking into the possibility that the women knew the shooter. Roberson said homicide detectives and officers with the fugitive task force are working the case.

The apartment complex released a statement saying it has numerous security cameras and has turned the footage over to detectives. By late afternoon, TPD sent out a news release with a photo of a vehicle that was seen leaving the complex after the shooting and is unknown to apartment personnel and was not recognized as a regular visitor's car.
