The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says they are investigating an officer-involved shooting involving a U.S. Marshals Task Force member Friday afternoon.
Authorities said the shooting occurred along Highway 75 between Okmulgee and Tulsa near the Duck Creek Casino.
They say that is where task force members attempted to stop a car driven by murder suspect Thomas Debrosse. Officials say the man attempted to run over a Tulsa police officer on the task force.
That is when, they say, the officer shot and hit the car, the driver was not harmed.
Officials say the driver then stopped the car, got out and ran before he was captured.
OSBI investigators will submit a report to the District Attorney once their investigation is complete.
Police say Debrosse was wanted in connection with a February 2014 home invasion at the Greens of Bedford Apartments in Tulsa.
Investigators believe Debrosse and two others broke an apartment. The man inside was armed and shot at the intruders, killing Michael Walton.
They said Debrosse showed up a hospital with gunshot wounds to his face, arms and back.
