Driver Killed In High Speed Wreck On Route 66 Near Foyil

Troopers say a young man in an Acura was going well above the speed limit when he crashed into the back of a Chevy Suburban. He was killed, and two women were injured.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers say a young male driver is dead in a two-vehicle collision on Route 66 just north of Foyil.

Troopers tell News On 6 Jacob Davis of Chelsea was in an Acura Integra going well in excess of the speed limit when he came up on a Chevrolet Suburban. Davis put on his brakes and went into a sideways slide, hitting the back of the SUV.

The Acura left a trail of black skid marks on the roadway.

There were two woman in the Suburban, Chelsea residents Stephanie Reed and Hannah Bywatery. Reed, 40, and Bywatery, 18, were both treated and released from Claremore Hillcrest.

Foyil Firefighters assisted in the wreck.

Davis' condition before the wreck and the cause of the fatality crash are under investigation, according to the OHP.
