71-Year-Old Gore Man Killed In Crash With Semi Truck In Mayes County

State troopers are investigating a semi truck crash that killed a 71-year-old man from Gore Wednesday afternoon.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol said John E. Eckenberger's 2009 Ford Focus collided with a semi truck on Highway 412, about 1.5 miles west and south of Chouteau.

Eckenberger was transported to a Mayes County hospital, where he died from his injuries.

Troopers say the driver of the semi truck, 34-year-old Jonathan Wayne Dale Reding, of Gentry, Arkansas was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation, so troopers could not offer many details, but they report the road was clear and dry and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
