Family Escapes Fire At Bandon Trails Apartments

Firefighters responded around 6 p.m. to a fire in a south Tulsa apartment with a child trapped inside.

When firefighters arrived at Bandon Trails Apartments, in the 2700 block of East 88th Street, they searched the building and found the two adults and four kids in the apartment had gotten out uninjured.

Tulsa Fire Captain Danny Kaiser said it looked like a kitchen fire. He said the apartment sustained heavy damage in the kitchen and dining room, and the surrounding units also had some smoke damage.

The Red Cross said they are helping the family of six with necessities.
