The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says three people were killed in a head-on crash Saturday morning on Oklahoma 33 in Creek County.

Troopers say the two vehicle crash occurred 1 mile west of the intersection of Highways 33 and 66 just after 11 a.m.

A westbound car swerved to miss an eastbound Jeep, which had crossed into the westbound lane. The Jeep then struck a second westbound car head on.

Troopers said the driver of the Jeep, Steven LeJune, of Bartlesville, and two people in the car, Monty and Julee Matherly, were killed.

The crash closed Highway 33 from the Kellyville exit of the Turner Turnpike to 193rd West Avenue for over three hours.

Saturday's crash is near the scene of an Aug. 23 crash on Highway 66, in which four people were killed.
