A former Barnsdall police chief was charged in Osage County last week following an investigation into a March 2013 crash.

Shane Davis, 40, faces charges of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs and carrying a firearm while under the influence.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol said Davis' police vehicle collided with trees on Highway 11 outside of Barnsdall on March 11.

Davis, who resigned following the crash, had been the police chief for just six months. He replaced Matt Clark, who was terminated by the city after being involved in a crash in which DUI was suspected.
