DEQ Says Potentially Hazardous Gauge Stolen From Pickup Truck

The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality says a gauge that contains radioactive material has been stolen.

The department said Friday that the gauge was taken from the back of a pickup truck in Ponca City. The gauge is used to measure density and moisture content of the soil.

DEQ says the gauge has a low threat of exposing people to radiation if the gauge remains locked. The department says if it is unlocked the radiation could be a health risk.
