The Tulsa Health Department says more patients of dentist Dr. Scott Harrington have tested positive for hepatitis C.
In this second round results, the health department identified eight new cases, bringing the total of positive cases of hepatitis C to 65. They said there were no new positive cases of hepatitis B or HIV.
Those who tested positive will be contacted personally.
The Tulsa lab has screened 3,503 people, so far, as part of the public health response to the announcement that Harrington was under investigation for using "unsafe and unsanitary" practices in his Tulsa and Owasso offices.
Each positive case will be investigated by the health department to determine whether the individuals possibly contracted the disease from the dental office.
