Deputies were forced to use a taser to subdue a Tulsa inmate who tried to escape not once, but twice.
We're told Kaliah Owens made his first escape attempt while appearing in a downtown courtroom on armed robbery charges. He started a fight with several law enforcement officers, but was taken down.
Later, Owens managed to break away, as he was being escorted out of the courthouse.
"He, again, was able to slip his cuffs into the front, and he began to run," said Major Shannon Clark, of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office.
Owens was tackled after a short chase, but deputies say it took a taser to get him under control.
Court records show Owens pleaded guilty to four counts of possession of a stolen vehicle in 2010.
He's now booked on additional complaints of escape from arrest, resisting arrest, and assault and battery on a police officer.
