Tulsa Man Shot To Death On Way To Visit Sister In East Tulsa Apartment Complex

Police have identified the victim in a fatal shooting at Garden Courtyards Apartments, at East 43rd Street and Garnett Road. It's the seventh homicide of 2013 in Tulsa, seven days into the year.

Officers responded to calls of shots fired in the complex at around 9:30 p.m. Monday.

Police said a 51-year-old Christopher Odis Williams was visiting the apartment to care for his sister, who is gravely ill. He was shot multiple times in the back while going up the stairs, according to police.

Williams was transported to an area hospital, where he died.

Detectives say they have no motive or suspect description at this time. They are looking for witnesses and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or the Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8477.
