Pieces of a historic Tulsa school that was destroyed by fire are now for sale.

When the old Barnard building burned in early September, a lot of former students and workers asked Tulsa Public Schools about buying a piece of the school.

The demolition company salvaged about 800 bricks, and Friday they went up for sale at the education service center for $5 each.

"We actually met in kindergarten there and have been friends ever since," said former student Jennifer Tinsley.

"It's a piece of our childhood," said Libby Farina. "I kind of wanted to have it Dremeled with the name and year I graduated from there."

About 550 of the bricks were reserved as soon as word got out that they were available, but the demolition company says they may have more bricks to sell later.

The money raised is going to the district's general fund.

Workers told News On 6 two couples have stopped by to buy bricks, because that's where they met. One couple has been together more than 30 years, and the other has been together for 58 years.
