Mayes County deputies arrested a 27-year-old man, accused of stabbing his mother to death Wednesday.

Deputies say the man didn't believe his mother was telling the truth about something, so he attacked her.

The call came in around 11:30 a.m. from a home in the Rose area, which is east of Locust Grove.

They say William Wilkerson told them he first choked his mother, then got a knife and stabbed her one time, hard enough to break the tip off the knife. Then he went back and got a second knife and stabbed her twice more.

Deputies say Wilkerson is the one who called 911 and admitted on the phone he had stabbed her.

He was booked into jail for first degree murder and is being held in jail without bond.

His first court appearance will be this Friday afternoon.
