Tulsa guard James Woodard was named Conference USA Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week after scoring 28 points in Sunday's season-opening 110-54 win over LSU Shreveport.
Woodard, an Edmond native, made 9-of-12 field goals, including 5-of-6 three-pointers and 5-of-5 free throws in 20 minutes on the floor. He tallied 18 points by halftime and connected on his first six shots of the game. He also committed no turnovers in the contest.
