A Kansas City company plans to spend $25 million to help clean up Tulsa's Fairmont Terrace Apartments near 61st and South Peoria.

The complex has been well known for years as a place where many violent crimes are committed.

The company plans to hire new management, give the complex a new look and hire security teams.

Management will also start doing background checks on residents before they move in.

All current residents will have to re-apply and pass background checks to stay.

If the Tulsa City Council approves the multi-million dollar deal, the remodel could begin next year.
