A man accused of raping a Tulsa woman appeared in court Thursday afternoon, following his arrest last week.
Christopher Alan Cardwell, 26, was formally charged with two counts of rape in the first degree and one count of kidnapping Tuesday.
Court documents show Cardwell appeared in court Thursday without legal representation and his arraignment was passed to September 13, to give him time to retain counsel.

His accuser, who wished to be known only as Kaitlin, spoke with News On 6 following Cardwell's August 27 arrest. She claimed Cardwell was an acquaintance and they were out together when Cardwell attacked her. Kaitlin said he used duct tape to bind her hands and cover her mouth before raping her.
According to arrest records, Cardwell was also arrested on a complaint of failure to register as a sex offender, but was not charged with that count.
Cardwell remains in jail on a $250,000 bond.
