Mannford Motorcyclist Dead After Being Rear-Ended By SUV

The motorcycle was slowing to make a left turn about a mile north of Oklahoma 33, and the SUV slammed it from behind, OHP said.

A Mannford man is dead after his motorcycle was rear-ended by a sport utility vehicle on Oklahoma 48 Wednesday morning, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

According to OHP, 38-year-old Jared Stanley was slowing to make a left turn into a private drive about a mile north of Oklahoma 33, and the SUV slammed him from behind.

Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV, Lisa Black, 39, of Wewoka, was taken to a Tulsa hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

According to the collision report, the motorcycle came to rest 157 feet from impact, and Stanley was ejected approximately 9 feet. The SUV traveled an additional 360 feet from the point of impact, the report said.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, OHP said.
