Tulsa's First Presbyterian Church Adds New Steeple

First Presbyterian Church added a steeple to their new south tower Thursday, as part of their massive, $33 million expansion project.

It was a major milestone for Tulsa's oldest church.

The congregation and donors gathered outside at 7th and Cincinnati to celebrate.

Even construction workers took a break to watch.

"Traditionally you raise a Christmas tree to top out a building," said Bill Pielsticker, Building Committee Chair. "Since we have a steeple and a cross we chose to do that today."

Everything in the new building will be built to mirror the original building, which is over 100 years old.

The project started in 2010 and will be finished in late July.

The grand opening for the new building will be in September.
