TULSA, Oklahoma – OU football picked up a big acquisition this week with a commitment from East Central cornerback Stanvon Taylor.
Taylor is a four-star recruit and the 16th ranked cornerback in the nation by Rivals.com, as well as the 188th overall player regardless of position. He stands 5-foot-11, 172 pounds with a 4.5-second 40 and a 34-inch vertical.
He chose the Sooners over other offers such as Arkansas, Houston, Kansas State and Ole Miss.
Taylor became the fifth commitment for an already strong Sooner recruiting class for 2013.
He is the second player from the state to sign with the Sooners. Defensive end D.J. Ward from Lawton, commonly regarded as the state's top recruit, is the other Oklahoman to sign with OU.
