The city of Tulsa just made one of the biggest decisions that can be made in city government. It's a decision on who is going to pick up the trash - for the next 10 years.
TARE has selected New Solutions as Tulsa's next trash hauler. It was a unanimous decision.
The TARE Board selected Toter Incorporated to provide the 249,000 carts for the city's new trash service.
They've already decided that base service will be once a week, with twice-a-week pickup optional at extra cost. Recycling is included at no extra fee for every house, but it's not required. And it's based on every house using city supplied trash carts.

They are not deciding the details Friday - the rates, the pickup days, and the start date for the new service.
It's very likely it won't change over until October now - because it's too late to meet the original goal of July 1.
New Solutions was the low bidder. It's a newly created company that is made up of haulers from the current contractor TRI.
