Police are asking for help after an H&R Block employee working late was shot and killed in north Tulsa Monday night.
It happened in the 4700 block of North Peoria at about 7:30 p.m.
Police say 21-year-old LaHarry "L.J." Myers was walking across the street to get food when he was shot multiple times. The man was found dead in the parking lot of the Asian Express Restaurant.
Police say several people heard the shots, but no one saw the victim getting murdered.
Many people are on edge, including a mother who says she is fed up with crime in the area.
"This is not a joke. This is not a game. This is real life," she said.
"Somebody's mother - and I thank the Lord it wasn't me or my husband, or my daughter - but somebody's family is going through it. I've experienced it."
There were about a dozen police cars in the area, and investigators were going door to door as they try to piece together what happened.
"The Tulsa Police Homicide Unit is working with Patrol and the Organized Gang Unit to locate potential witnesses to this shooting," said Sergeant Dave Walker, Homicide.
Walker said they have not found a motive in the shooting, Tulsa's fourth homicide of 2012.
Anyone with information on the murder is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS, the Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8477 or email homicide@cityoftulsa.org .
