Tulsa Public Schools Appoints Interim Athletic Director

Tulsa Public Schools has appointed an interim athletic director, which was approved by the school board Monday night.

Gil Cloud, former athletic director of Northeastern State University of Tahlequah, will begin with TPS on Tuesday.

Dr. Stephanie Spring resigned from the position in January after an investigation was launched into whether she and two assistants illegally accessed an employee's personal emails.

Cloud will serve until a full-time director is hired to replace Spring.

"Gil has a lengthy track record of success in both high school and college athletics, and will be a powerful asset to TPS as we focus on finding the right individual to take our athletic program into the future," said Kevin Burr, associate superintendent of secondary schools.

Dr. Stephanie Spring resigned from the position in January after an investigation was launched into whether she and two assistants illegally accessed an employee's personal emails.
