Southbound lanes of U.S. Highway 75 at 61st Street South were closed after a two-vehicle crash. Traffic was diverted from the highway as emergency crews investigated and cleaned up the wreck.
A suspected drunk driver in a Ford pickup truck hit another vehicle shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday.
A sheriff's deputy saw the pickup going the wrong way on the highway and tried to signal the man to stop.
He could not get the driver's attention, and the pickup hit a sedan with a woman and two girls inside.
The truck hit the front end of the sedan then "pole-vaulted" over the woman's car, according to Corporal Dan Miller with the Tulsa Police Department.
The woman was freed by firefighters using the jaws of life. A 6-year-old girl was uninjured. A teenage girl had a head injury, Miller said.
All occupants of the pickup and sedan have been transported by ambulance to Tulsa hospitals. Miller said that their injuries are not life threatening.
Officers at the scene the pickup truck driver was incoherent and smelled of alcohol. He was driving someone else's pickup, but they were not sure if it is stolen or borrowed.
