Muskogee Man Wanted In Shooting Death Of Toddler Surrenders To Police

Muskogee Police say 21-year-old Elbert Meeks turned himself in to Tulsa Police around midnight.

Muskogee Police say a man wanted in connection with the shooting death of a 2-year-old boy is now in custody. 

Police say 21-year-old Elbert Meeks turned himself in to Tulsa Police around midnight. 

Muskogee police detectives came to Tulsa to take him back to Muskogee. 

Police say Meeks was trying to break into a home in the 1100 block of Indianapolis Avenue in Muskogee at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when he fired one shot.  

The bullet hit 2-year-old Jacioen Logan who died at a Muskogee hospital. 

Meeks is now being held in the Muskogee County jail on a complaint of first degree murder. 

Police say Meeks had also been sought in connection to another Muskogee shooting last week.
