This week alone, meals were not delivered to 85 home people in the Tulsa area due to lack of volunteers at Meals on Wheels of Metro Tulsa.
The program has an urgent need of people to help deliver meals and friendly contact to homebound elderly and disabled people. They also need food packers and site coordinators.
"People desperately need our services. We want to make sure everyone who needs meals has a chance to get them," said Cathy Perlingiere, Director of Volunteer Services.
"This is an opportunity to do something very simple and very easy, but to also make a difference in someone's life and well-being."
It usually takes under two hours, usually between 10 a.m. and noon, to help feed people in need. Call 918-627-4103 or go to Meals On Wheels Tulsa for more information.
