Sapulpa Police: Neighbor Shot, Killed Protecting Woman From Enraged Husband

A neighbor was shot and killed early Thanksgiving morning by the husband of a woman she was trying to protect, according to Sapulpa police.

Police say the wife ran to the neighbor's home in the 100 block of Goodykoontz Avenue in Sapulpa around 2 a.m. The woman was seeking refuge from her enraged husband, according to police. 

Police told News On 6 the husband returned to the neighbor's home with a gun and shot the female victim through a closed door. The bullet hit her in the chest, killing her instantly.

The husband was taken into custody and was being questioned by detectives. Police have not yet released any names involved in the incident.
