Camp Gruber's Thunderbird Chapel Rising Quickly

Construction is moving along swiftly on a new chapel at Camp Gruber. More than 200 volunteers have worked over the past couple of weeks on the project, which is being funded entirely through private donations.

Construction is moving along swiftly on a new chapel at Camp Gruber. More than 200 volunteers have worked over the past couple of weeks on the project, which is being funded entirely through private donations.

The shell of the building is about 75 percent complete on the 10,500 square foot chapel. Interior work is also underway.

Volunteers plan to have it completely finished before Oklahoma's 45th Infantry returns from its deployment to Afghanistan and Kuwait.
