TULSA, Oklahoma -- Tulsa Police have captured the suspect in two shooting deaths that took place near a QuikTrip at 71st and Riverside Tuesday night.
Zane Atchison was taken into custody just before 9 a.m. Wednesday after a witness reported seeing him and another man steal a pickup from the parking lot of the Sam's Club at 44th and Sheridan.
Police located the truck and began a pursuit that led to the 78th and Wheeling area near the Riverparks Apartments. The two men bailed from the truck at the apartment complex, and police captured them in a foot chase.
The second man was taken into custody for questioning and then released.
The two shooting victims have been identified as 27-year-old Patrick Shawn and 24-year-old Kaylyn Kosofsky.
"The investigation reveals that the two victims meet the suspect at the QuickTrip at around 7:40 p.m.," said Sergeant Dave Walker of the Tulsa Homicide Division.
"Atchison is on a black motorcycle, and then meets the victims on the church lot. Atchison shoots into the vehicle killing both victims. Atchison attempts to flee on the stolen motorcycle but it will not start."
Atchison then dragged the male victim's body from the vehicle, drove to the north side of the church and abandoned the car, Walker said. He then ran away, police say.
A witness told police he heard gunshots just after 8 p.m. and called 911.
Police found the body of the male victim sprawled out next to the motorcycle in the convenience store's parking lot.
The female victim was found 20 minutes later inside a car parked just east of the QT in the Open Bible Fellowship Church parking lot.
