Year-Round Tulsa Schools Start Thursday

TULSA, Oklahoma -- It was back to school Thursday for hundreds of Tulsa kids that go to Tulsa Public Schools' six year round schools.

Gilcrease Elementary is the newest.

The school board voted just three nights ago to add Gilcrease to the continuous learning calendar. On top of getting school supplies, parents were scrambling to meet the new uniform requirements for all TPS elementary schools.

"Crazy. I sent my mom and my sister on a goose chase to go find some and then we're going to go - thank God for tax free weekend - we're going this weekend to go find some more," said Jovon Crawford, TPS parent.

All other TPS students start class on August 22nd.
