OKLAHOMA CITY – The Sapulpa Chieftains earned their first conference win of the season Thursday with a 48-0 blowout of Putnam City West.
The Chieftains (3-6, 1-5) ended a five-game losing streak and put up their most points in almost five years. The last time they scored 48 or more points came on Nov. 4, 2005, in a 55-19 victory over Northwest Classen.
The loss spoiled Senior Night for Putnam City West (1-8, 1-5) and extended its losing streak to three games. The Patriots will finish their season next week against Southmoore (4-4, 1-3), while Sapulpa will face Muskogee (5-3, 3-2).
