Hilldale Football Coach Don Hendrix Dies

HILLDALE, Oklahoma -- Hilldale High School football coach Don Hendrix died Tuesday morning of an apparent heart attack. He was 56 years old.

Hendrix had been suffering from pneumonia-like symptoms Monday when he was admitted to a Tulsa hospital.

Born in Okmulgee, Hendrix came over to Hilldale after coaching football and baseball at Laverne High School from 1998-2001. He also previously coach at Porter High School.

The school has not yet released an official statement.
