FAIRLAND, Oklahoma – The Fariland Owls lost 13 players from a 4-6 team a season ago, and will need younger players to step up if they want to build on the momentum that they built with 46-0 blowout of Okay in the last week of the season. Senior Kyle Smith (5’8” 150lbs) should step into the quarterback position, and has a big target at split end in junior Jesse Drosche (6’4” 205lbs). Up front Fariland has senior Zachary Needham (6’0” 225lbs), who will fill in as the senior leader on both sides of the ball. Defensively the Owls will be led by junior linebacker Troy Jones (5’6” 140lbs), who makes up what he lacks in size with his energy and athleticism. As a sophomore, Jones accounted for 25 tackles, 25 carries and 46 receiving yards.
