Two ORU Players Receive Weekly Awards

Cam Schiller and Alex Gonzalez received Summit League honors on Monday.

TULSA – ORU junior Cam Schiller was name The Summit League’s Player of the Week, while Alex Gonzalez was selected as a Co-Pitcher of the Week for their performances in last week’s games, the league announced Monday.

The award is Schiller’s second of the season. Schiller had four RBIs and a home run against No. 7 TCU earlier in the week.

He batted 11-for-19 with 10 RBIs and five runs scored during the week.

Gonzalez is gathering his fourth league Pitcher of the Week award this season. He gave up three hits in nine innings against Southern Utah.

The Golden Eagles open up Summit League Tournament play this Thursday in Sioux Falls, S.D. against Western Illinois. First pitch is set for 2 p.m.
