Two Sooners Among Player of the Year Finalists

NORMAN, Oklahoma – OU softball players Amber Flores and Keilani Ricketts were both named to Amateur Softball Association’s top 25 finalist list for the 2010 Collegiate Player of the Year Wednesday.

The award is given annually to the best player in college softball and is considered the most prestigious honor in the sport. OU is one of five teams – joined by Stanford, Georgia Tech, Washington and Arizona – to have two players among the finalists.

The list will be trimmed to 10 players on May 12, and three finalists will be announced May 26th. The winner will be selected before the start of the Women’s College World Series, which will be played in Oklahoma City.
