STILLWATER, Oklahoma -- It may get harder for Zac Robinson to dodge the accolades any longer. Robinson was named a semi-finalist for the Davey O’Brien Award, given to the nation’s top collegiate quarterback.

Oklahoma State quarterback Zac Robinson may be having a career year, just don’t tell him that.

“I feel good with what we’re doing and hopefully we can just keep getting better,” said Robinson. “There’s been good stretches that I’ve had and I feel good right now and feel comfortable with the receivers more and more and the tight ends that we have.”

Robinson is seventh nationally and top in the Big 12 in quarterback efficiency, with a 158.27 efficiency rating. His performance this year has led the Cowboys to a 6-1 record this year and a No. 13 ranking in both the BCS and the AP polls and also the Oklahoma Sports poll.

“In my opinion, being a good quarterback is being able to manage the game in understanding what your strengths are and where their weaknesses are and try to attack those areas using what your strengths are as an offense,” said head coach Mike Gundy. “I think he’s done a pretty good job of that over the last few weeks.”

Robinson will need another big performance Saturday when the Cowboys welcome the No. 3 Longhorns into T. Boone Pickens Stadium.
