TULSA, Oklahoma – After beginning the 2009 season with three consecutive road games, the Tulsa Golden Hurricane returned to Chapman Stadium Saturday evening with a new look.
The team entered the stadium sporting blue helmets to go along with gold jerseys and pants with blue trim. It is reminiscent of last year’s home opener, when the team broke out red jerseys.
Saturday’s home opener against Sam Houston State also marked the debut of the new-look Captain Cane, who now resembles a super hero as opposed to a hurricane.
Tulsa enters this game at 2-1, and the team is coming off of a frustrating 45-0 loss at Oklahoma last week. The Golden Hurricane's high-octane offense should have a great opportunity to get back on track tonight against the Bearkats, who play in the Bowl Subdivision.
Check back with Oklahoma Sports later this evening for highlights and reaction from tonight’s game.
