TULSA, Oklahoma -- Police are searching for three robbers who hit a Tulsa jewelry store and hijacked a getaway car.

Police say they're already hot on the trail of the gunmen. They've recovered the stolen getaway car.

The robbery happened at Moody's Jewelry at 71st and Lewis Friday about noon.  Police say three men with guns and masks threatened an employee, smashed some jewelry cases and took off with some valuables.  The other suspect reportedly waited in the car.

Police believe the same men carjacked a victim at a nearby Arby's restaurant after the armed robbery.  The suspects were later spotted driving erratically near 81st and Lewis in the carjacked car.

Witnesses say they noticed something funny was going on, but didn't put together that they had front-row seats to a robbery until after the fact.

"I thought they were kids messing around. People dress with hoodies and play around like that,"said Homer Woolslayer, a witness to the robbery. "They looked almost typical to me, and then I realized, gosh they just knocked off the store."

"A couple of minutes later they ran out running that way. I didn't know what had happened." Tina Brookshire, a witness, said.

Investigators say based on the surveillance video, the thieves knew what they were doing. But their bold choice of location and time of day could be their downfall.

"It was a risky robbery which betters the opportunity to catch these guys,"Sergeant Mike Huff, Tulsa Police, said.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

If you have any information about this crime you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS.
