OKLAHOMA CITY – A Broken Arrow man who allegedly scammed more than $75,000 from hunters was arrested Tuesday, Attorney General Scott Pruitt said.

James Adam Jenkins faces three counts of unfair or deceptive trade practice.

Pruitt said Jenkins violated the Oklahoma Consumer Protection Act by asking for money in magazine and online advertisements from at least three hunters to lead deer, elk and quail hunts in western Oklahoma and Colorado.

According to Pruitt, hunters in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Texas said Jenkins accepted their money, and then canceled the hunts without refunding their money.

According to the state's complaint, Jenkins does not have permission to hunt the land included in the advertisement.

The investigation is ongoing.
