WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The FDA is removing about 500 cold and allergy medications from the market. That's because the prescription drugs do not have FDA approval.
Most of the medications in question have been around since before FDA regulations were put in place in 1962.
The drugs were supposed to be tested over time, but many never were.
