TULSA, OK -- Authorities are still trying to figure out if a man riding a bicycle on the railroad tracks near 1st and Guthrie either jumped off the bicycle or was still on it when a southbound BNSF locomotive struck it Friday morning.
Tulsa Police were called at 6 a.m. after the locomotive's engineer notified them of the accident.
The bicycle was broken into at least three pieces and its rider taken by EMSA to a Tulsa hospital as a precaution.
Railroad crossings at Elgin, Greenwood and Lansing were closed to traffic for a short time because of the stopped train while Tulsa Police and BNSF investigated the accident.
