Oklahoma National Guard officials say Corporal Adam Schuster is recovering at the Walter Reed Medical Center.

UNDATED -- One of Oklahoma's finest has been wounded in the line of duty. Oklahoma National Guard officials say Corporal Adam Schuster is recovering at the Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. after being shot in Iraq.

Military officials say an insurgent shot the Guthrie soldier in the neck. He has undergone one surgery, but is expected to go through several more before fully recovering.

Schuster's family traveled to Washington to be with him.
