Oklahoma Airports Get FAA Money

Airports in Bartlesville and Okmulgee will be getting some additional funding from the FAA as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

BARTLESVILLE, OK -- Airports in Bartlesville and Okmulgee will be getting some additional funding from the FAA as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Officials with the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission say the FAA has announced six Oklahoma airports will receive $16.4 million.

Bartlesville Municipal Airport will get $3.9 million which airport officials will also use to rehabilitate its runway.  

The OAC says $2 million will be availabiel for Okmulgee Municipal Airport's first phase of reconstructing its parallel taxiway system.

State officials say Oklahoma has 114 publicly owned airports, placing it fourth nationally for the number of public airports per capita.
