Krebs Woman's Fire Death Ruled Accidental

KREBS, OK -- A fatal fire in rural Pittsburg County Thursday morning has been ruled accidental. 

Pittsburg County Undersheriff J.W. Young says a woman's body was found in a small shed near Krebs after firefighters were called to a report of a fire shortly after 7:45 a.m.    

The shed was located behind the victim's parent's home about a mile east of Krebs on state Highway 31. 

OSBI spokesperson Jessica Brown says Alice Faye McGuire, 49, was living in the shed. 

She says they believe that because of the cold weather, the victim had an electric blanket.  Brown says the blanket caught fire resulting in the death of McGuire. 

Brown says the state Fire Marshal's Office assisted in the investigation.
