GRADY COUNTY, Okla. -- A grass fire blackened a large area about three miles west of Chickasha Thursday afternoon.
The fire consumed at least one structure. Fire officials say a barn was burned to the ground. Fortunately, a mobile home and a few other structures nearby were spared.
At least two homes were in immediate danger from the flames before the fire was carriued north by the winds.
The fire was on Grand Avenue near the town of Verden. It took firefighters several hours to bring the fire under control.
No injuries were been reported.
