City leaders say they're making progress on a race riot memorial near the Drillers' new home.  Fundraising is nearly complete for the Franklin Center and Reconciliation Park.

Backers hope to tell the story of African American life in Oklahoma, including the race riot, and at the same time honor the historian and Oklahoma native John Hope Franklin.

They say the park's been a long time coming and they hope to have it opened around same time as the new ballpark.

"Our objective is to get the park done well before the opening of the stadium. We don't have that much money to raise to complete the park," said Greenwood Chamber President Reuben Gant.

A Greenwood spokesperson says the park should open sometime next year.
