NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A broken water pump in Norman has been repaired, and the city's water supply is back to normal.
Utilities director Ken Komiske says the new pump was installed and in place Friday afternoon.
The pump broke late Monday and limited the amount of water the city receives from Lake Thunderbird.
While the pump was down, Norman had to supplement its water supply with 6.7 million gallons a day from Oklahoma City at a cost of $26,000 each day.
Komiske says city officials are still encouraging residents to adhere to voluntary water rationing by watering lawns every other day.
