NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- A pump that draws water from Lake Thunderbird has malfunctioned, reducing the water supply for the city of Norman.
City officials say the pump broke Monday and should be fixed by the end of the week.
With the pump out, the city is receiving water from the lake at a rate of about 10 million gallons a day, four million less than usual.
Residents are being asked to abide by a voluntary odd-even watering system in which water customers with odd-numbered addresses do outdoor watering on odd-numbered days and customers with even-numbered addresses do their watering on even-numbered days.
